SUMMARY
  • This position is responsible for providing electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, repair and technical support for the entire facility.
  • Hourly Rate: $30.66 - $43.96

FUNCTIONS
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Knows, observes, and enforces all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures and rules, environmental practices and GMP guidelines.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of all electrical systems and components in the refinery and/or packaging house. The electrical systems include, but are not limited to, variable speed drives, motors and motor control equipment, PLC and related equipment and power distribution equipment and turbines.
  • Responsible for monitoring the turbines during their shift. This includes starting and stopping turbines as instructed.
  • Makes adjustments to the turbo-generation units to help the refinery maximize efficiency.
  • Performs pneumatic troubleshooting, including but not limited to calculating ranges and set points for switches, transmitters, indicators, recorder, and controllers.
  • Installs conduit, wiring, panels, controls, and other electrical components for machines and equipment.
  • Installs and maintain light fixtures and related equipment.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Available for on call responsibility during specified times.
  • Cleans up area at the completion of maintenance and repair.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • 3 or more years of electrical experience in an industrial setting.

The following are the preferred qualifications:
  • 6 or more years of electrical experience in an industrial setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
The following are the basic qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

At least two of the following are the preferred qualifications:
  • Possess instrumentation skill sets such as demonstrated extensive knowledge of 4-20ma loops and demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation calibration: Rosemount, Fisher, and Foxboro.
  • Possess distribution skill sets such as extensive experience with turbine generators and extensive knowledge of motor controls.
  • Possess controls skill sets such as experience of Allen Bradly logic PLC programing and experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.

Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The associate is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The associate is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
