Job description

Join a dynamic and innovative team in the heart of Greenville, SC, as you leverage your skills as a Controls Engineer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to configure, program, start up, and commission custom control systems tailored to meet specific customer requirements. As a critical contributor, you will troubleshoot systems, execute maintenance plans, and provide expert technical support both over the phone and in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and program advanced control systems, including but not limited to:
  • Boiler and boiler plant control systems (BMS and combustion)
  • Kiln and furnace control systems
  • Batch process control systems

SCADA and HMI systems

Work with various industrial hardware, including but not limited to:

  • Honeywell HC900 Controller
  • Honeywell ControlEdge PLC

Various other industrial controllers

Proficiently utilize software such as Honeywell Experion HS, Redlion Crimson, Iconics, and other SCADA systems to enhance system performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless design and programming activities.

Assist in testing control system configurations to ensure reliability and effectiveness.

Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and help validate and commission control systems.

Provide on-site training for customers, enhancing their understanding and use of installed systems.

Make recommendations for system improvements and modifications to the Project Manager.

Support sales and proposal development efforts to drive business growth.

Carry out warranty work and maintain accurate documentation of tasks performed.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in control systems engineering.

Education requirements include an associate's degree or comparable certification, with a preference for degrees in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with the capability to learn proprietary software.

Demonstrated ability to tune control loops effectively to meet system specifications.

Familiarity with Digital Volt/Ohm Meters and transmitter simulators.

Understanding of Ethernet Network Systems and the ability to interface control systems with these networks.

Proficient experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs in utility or process controls; knowledge of Honeywell HC900 is a plus.

Experience with HMI and SCADA systems, especially Redlion and Iconics, indicating an adaptability to new technologies.

Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD to support project documentation and designs.

Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds.
