Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Controls Technician, Robotics to support the automated equipment used to manufacture our breakthrough Iron-Air batteries. Reporting to the Senior Controls Engineering Manager, you will handle the maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of our robotics and control systems to maximize uptime and efficiency. This position has day and night shift available. Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:
  • Provide electrical, controls, and troubleshooting support for production and maintenance teams.
  • Update robot paths, adjust points, and make minor programming changes to improve throughput.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with vision systems, barcode scanners, and automated machinery.
  • Read/redline electrical schematics and assist engineers with machine control panel fabrication.
  • Follow all plant safety and environmental policies.
What you'll bring:
  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting robotic and industrial control systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Education: Associate degree in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
  • Robotics & Vision: Familiarity with FANUC robots, as well as Keyence/Cognex vision and barcode systems (working under supervision is expected).
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics and blueprints; basic PLC troubleshooting.
  • Bonus: Experience with Siemens TIA-Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Beckhoff TwinCat, or control panel fabrication.

Where you'll work:
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
