POSITION TITLE: Content Development Associate I, Examinations (multiple vacancies)


STATUS: Full time / Exempt


LOCATION: Chicago, IL (Hybrid: 2 days/week on-site, 3 days/week remote)

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented registered nurse (RN) to join our Examinations team. The ideal candidate will bring value to the team by contributing their nursing knowledge and expertise to assist in the content development process for all NCSBN examinations.


Reporting to the Manager, Content Development, Examinations, the Content Development Associate I will be able to work independently to review and edit nursing exam content, while also having the opportunity to interact with a team of content developers and nursing experts on various department projects. This position will play a large role in facilitating item writing and review panels, which include a variety of external stakeholders and nursing SMEs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes nursing knowledge to assist the content development process to ensure content is current, accurate, and legally defensible. Designs test questions, reviews and edits content, ensures validity and reliability, and aligns content with professional standards.
  • Facilitates and provides support for all aspects of item development sessions/panels as assigned. Leads group discussions, records and documents responses, and analyzes and summarizes results.
  • Assists in item content and item evolution, including testing security, item input, forms/document creation and maintenance.
  • Assist in the development of material for public speaking and outreach through internal and external presentations on behalf of NCSBN including speaking at workshops. Provides support to special assignments and innovative research projects related to test development.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in nursing degree required.
  • Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in recent clinical practice required.
  • Experience with public speaking required.
  • Skilled in collaboration, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $78,000 - $89,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on a candidate’s relevant experience, skills, training, certifications/licenses, qualifications and geographical location.
