Job description

Regional Nurse Consultant - Skilled Nursing
Full Spectrum Search Group is a full-service healthcare recruiting agency specializing in post-acute leadership and healthcare administration. A respected skilled nursing operator is seeking a Regional Nurse Consultant to oversee clinical quality initiatives across four skilled nursing facilities in Santa Rosa, CA. This role partners closely with administrators, Directors of Nursing, and regional leadership to ensure strong clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and consistent quality performance across the portfolio.
Unlike many regional consulting roles that span hundreds of beds, this position supports a smaller group of facilities, allowing the consultant to maintain a deeper presence within each building and provide meaningful clinical guidance.
The organization maintains high expectations for clinical quality and regulatory compliance, with a strong emphasis on proactive monitoring, survey readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Details
  • Location: Santa Rosa, CA
  • Salary: Competitive annual salary + Bonus Potential

Why apply?
  • Small facility portfolio - oversee approximately 150 beds across 2 SNFs
  • Join a high-performing organization known for strong clinical standards and survey performance
  • Work with experienced administrators and Directors of Nursing at stable facilities
  • Focus on quality improvement and clinical support rather than crisis turnaround

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical consulting and quality oversight across four skilled nursing facilities
  • Partner with administrators and Directors of Nursing to review clinical metrics and implement improvement initiatives
  • Conduct routine facility rounds to assess care delivery, compliance, and clinical performance
  • Monitor key quality indicators including falls, pressure injuries, psychotropic medication use, weight loss, and other clinical outcomes
  • Lead monthly quality review meetings with facility leadership teams
  • Assist with survey preparation, mock surveys, and regulatory readiness efforts
  • Review charts and conduct detailed clinical audits when needed, including legal chart reviews
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to facility clinical leadership teams
  • Collaborate with regional leadership to identify risks and implement corrective action plans

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Skilled nursing experience required
  • Prior DON, Regional Clinical, or Nurse Consultant experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of SNF regulatory compliance and survey processes
  • Experience reviewing clinical metrics and driving quality improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work closely with facility leadership and provide consultative guidance
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working on-site within facilities the majority of the time
