Marx Okubo Associates, Inc. is a trusted national architecture/engineering/construction consulting firm that works with real estate owners, investors and lenders at every point of the property lifecycle to evaluate building projects, solve complex challenges and implement tailored solutions.

The Senior Associate Consulting Architect will work in San Francisco on a hybrid schedule with two days in office and the remaining days either on site visits (local and regional) or from home.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical team member and project lead
  • Leverage strong technical skills in commercial construction, including regional code and building enclosure knowledge
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, consultants and site contacts
  • Be responsible for an overall understanding of all assigned projects
  • Review and analyze building construction and condition
  • Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts and budgets
  • Perform building evaluations and construction monitoring
  • Prepare formal deliverable reports with high level of detail and accuracy
  • Build relationships and develop business
  • Travel locally and regionally 25‑50%
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture or related field
  • 10‑15 years industry related experience at an architecture, engineering or construction company
  • Registered Architect in California
  • Technical level of understanding of building types to perform services with limited supervision
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, sequence, and activities
  • Solid understanding of building materials and methods
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • High‑level organizational, time management, communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of construction contract types and forms
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) a plus
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Word Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Plan Grid a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Willingness to travel 25‑50% locally and regionally
