Chef – Brick Tavern Inn, Quakertown, PA


The Brick Tavern Inn is accepting resumes for the position of Chef. We are looking for a hands-on Chef and Manager, experienced in high volume, who will work alongside their team while training, developing, and supporting a great and valued staff.

The award-winning Brick Tavern Inn, nestled in the Quakertown countryside, has a rich history, always with the goal of creating memorable dining experiences. The menu is rich and varied as New American Cuisine set in a relaxed country dining environment. Both fine dining and upscale casual menu items are always available. Their venues are numerous from the idyllic patio al fresco seating, to the dining room, private dining space, and cozy bars.

The position requires strong cooking ability on all stations, culinary creativity, strength in communication, efficiency in staffing, and economical purchasing.

The Management team strives to create a service team of friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating individuals. Ownership fosters an environment of creativity, individuality, innovation and excellence. Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years management experience and oversight in the day-to-day operations of a busy and very high-volume restaurant and bar.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals
  • Ability to interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop a talented staff.
  • Ability to create efficiencies in food production, manage a payroll, and creatively staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Suite, and POS systems
  • Knowledge and experience with special events and private events
  • Effective interpersonal skills in communicating with customers, staff, management, owners, and suppliers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily and weekly specials with creativity and an eye on current trends
  • Ensure that menu items are prepared and presented according to recipes and guidelines to maintain consistency.
  • Create a cohesive BOH and FOH environment.
  • Maintain proper inventories, project food sales, and purchase according to pars and menu demand.
  • Accept responsibility for driving the business to meet and exceed budgeted sales and operational costs.
  • Search for opportunities for constant improvement and best practices
  • Maintain cleanliness and establish standards and hold staff accountable.
  • Provide a positive and professional attitude toward all staff and the ability to resolve conflicts. Encourage comradery between the BOH and FOH.
