Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly Beecher Carlson, is looking for an Associate Claims Consultant to join the team in Atlanta, GA.
As an Associate Claims Consultant, you will be responsible for all claims on assigned accounts. The Associate Claims Consultant manages, supervises, coordinates, and handles, as appropriate, all claims on behalf of client(s). This includes working with third parties and insurance carriers in gathering information and resolving claim issues; being responsible for seeing that all proper claims administration procedures are outlined with the client, implemented, and followed accordingly for all claims on assigned accounts; ensuring all duties and claims are managed in accordance to policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with client to support all related claim functions

  • Establish and maintain files, practices, and procedures as required by audit-compliant standards

  • Interface, and coordinate the activities with the claims teams internally and externally

  • Develop and monitor client-specific claims handling Instructions

  • Generate and analyze various reports tracking client's performance in matters of claim reporting, number of incidents, activation percent, claims costs, and any other information as requested

  • Provide input to the senior claims team members to keep the client apprised at all times of matters affecting the account, including analysis and recommendations

  • Develop rapport with clients' field personnel and client's corporate staff as necessary

  • Remain current on legislation and issues in the claims field and related insurance areas

  • Maintain effective communication with loss control departments, (internal and external)

  • Maximize utilizing available systems and software

  • Adhere to internal and Sarbanes-Oxley policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience

  • Maintain effective working relationships with brokers, clients, and carriers.

  • Keep current on common and statutory law and inform clients as necessary.

  • Attend required training sessions, courses, etc. to develop and maintain up-to-date skills and product knowledge.

  • Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures

  • Maintain appropriate state brokers' licensing
