JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Administrative Associate 2 provides front-end and clerical support to the UT Health Science Center Pediatric Dentistry Clinics. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and caregivers and interacts with faculty, residents, patients, and fellow staff to facilitate high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
  1. Serves as primary contact for patients; schedules patients and manages the clinic schedule; manages patient registration process.
  2. Communicates clinical procedures, treatment plans, and payment information to patients.
  3. Analyzes patient flow and appointment scheduling issues and implements solutions.
  4. Verifies patient demographics and insurance eligibility for planned procedures.
  5. Performs daily audits of all patients and ensures correct code entry.
  6. Identifies and reports deviations in record keeping and risk management such as unapproved notes, code corrections, signed treatment plans, and informed consent.
  7. Collects payments and financial communications for self-pay patients and allocates payments.
  8. Initiates and maintains communications with referring physicians and clinics.
  9. Coordinates resident and faculty schedules with department administration.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of experience in a medical or dental office with responsibility for scheduling and managing patient accounts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of related procedures and systems.
  • Ability to work effectively.
  • Ability to use tact and discretion when dealing with a variety of issues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
