Field Computer Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Field Computer Technician for restaurant point of sale systems to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware, software, and networking systems at client locations. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent customer service skills. The Field Technician will travel to customer sites to diagnose technical issues and ensure systems operate efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities

Travel to client locations to install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and network equipment

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues

Perform system upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance

Install operating systems, business applications, and security updates

Set up and support printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT equipment

Troubleshoot network issues including routers, switches, and wireless connectivity

Provide onsite technical support and user training

Document service activities, issues, and resolutions

Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment

Ensure compliance with company IT standards and client security protocols

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Proven experience in computer repair and troubleshooting

Strong knowledge of:

Windows and/or macOS systems

Hardware components and peripherals

Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches)

Microsoft Office and common business software
