Role Overview

The Associate, Trade Desk is an entry-level role designed for individuals eager to build a career at the intersection of financial markets and technology. Under the guidance of senior Trade Desk staff, this role supports the day-to-day operational oversight of one or more Cboe exchange trading platforms (e.g., BYX, BZX, C1, C2, CFE, EDGA, EDGX) across asset classes including equities, options, futures, and foreign currencies. Associates in this role will develop foundational expertise in market structure, platform operations, and customer support while working collaboratively with experienced colleagues and internal teams. This role reports to the Trade Desk Manager.

Your responsibilities will be:

Platform Monitoring & Operations Support

  • Assist with daily system checks and review of audit logs under the guidance of senior team members to help verify system changes and confirm platforms are operating as expected
  • Monitor production, disaster recovery, and certification/test environments and escalate anomalies or known issues to experienced staff in a timely manner
  • Support the delivery of live updates to customers and internal teams related to system and trading issues
  • Learn and apply standard operating procedures to assist in resolving routine platform issues

Customer & Exchange Support

  • Assist in providing first-level customer support related to platform behavior, order processing, market structure, and feature/function inquiries
  • Support exchange platform operations including order cancel requests, clearing support requests, and client onboarding activities under supervision
  • Help monitor auctions/rotations and assist with block trade and ECRP support as directed

Data & Analysis

  • Use SQL and UNIX shell tools under supervision to query databases and examine log files in support of data gathering and basic reporting tasks
  • Assist in documenting findings and preparing reports for customers and business teams as needed

Process & Documentation

  • Update internal technical procedures and operational documentation within the Operations team's Confluence space under the direction of senior staff
  • Support weekend industry testing participation as needed

Collaboration & Learning

  • Develop working knowledge of Cboe's exchange platforms, APIs (market data, order entry, web service), and operational workflows through on-the-job training and mentorship
  • Build internal relationships with colleagues across Operations, Technology, and Business teams to exchange information and support team goals
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested

The ideal candidate has

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business, Financial Services, Communications, or a related discipline
  • 2+ years professional experience required; internship, coursework, or academic project experience in financial services, technology, or a related field is a plus
  • FINRA Security Industry Essentials Examination (SIE) and Series 57 licenses, or the ability to obtain within the first 8 months of service, required
  • Basic familiarity with SQL or UNIX shell environments (coursework or personal experience accepted)
  • Strong eagerness to learn financial market concepts, trading systems, and technical support workflows
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly relay information to internal colleagues and customers
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standard practices with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

    Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)

    At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and marketinformed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $68,000-$88,000, with actual compensation determined by jobrelated factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location.

    This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
