Job description

This position reports to the Director of Administrative Systems and provides the primary technical support for the Student and Student Services related modules of the ERP system as well as the Customer Relation Management system. This position provides advanced technical analysis, workflow automation, data troubleshooting, and cross‑departmental system support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide technical and consulting support for Ellucian Banner Student including advising, registration, enrollment, testing, academic, and all other Student Services related aspects as needed.

Build and automate SQL/Argos dashboards and reports, aligning with institutional priorities to support data-driven decision-making.

Provide technical and consulting support for Banner Document Management (BDM) and Output Transformation Server (OTS), including developing JavaScript parsing and indexing logic and automating document‑processing workflows and developing and maintaining batch scripts and file‑transfer automations to support BDM/OTS ingestion, archiving, and cross‑system integrations.

Provide technical support for Automic/UC4 to automate processes for Banner Student and other cross-departmental workflows including: enrollment reporting, data imports and other critical operational tasks.

Provide technical assistance as needed for Student and Financial Aid related Banner patches and new versions.

Analyze Banner datasets to provide technical insights and drive data-driven decision-making.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, identify system enhancements, and implement solutions.

Leverage emerging technologies to continuously optimize the modernized ERP platform.

Ensure seamless continuity during student systems migrations including accurate data mapping, data transformations, and data verification afterward.

Provide development support for the various aspects of Slate including but not limited to the Admissions Applications, Advising Portal, and Tutoring Center Kiosk as requested by the users.

Provide technical support for Remark scanning software used by various departments to perform functions such as faculty evaluations.

Provide configuration/development and troubleshooting support for Axiom.

Provide support for Ellucian Degree Works including applying updates from the catalog and troubleshooting issues with CPOS.

Provide support for the data exchanges with National Student Clearinghouse and the Reverse Transfer systems.

Analyze complex data and manage data files utilizing SQL, SFTP, and Microsoft Office suite to support the needs of internal users.

Support faculty and staff in the use of other software, such as Microsoft Office applications, email, SFTP, and related tools.

Provide primary backup for the Financial Aid Analyst position and secondary backup for other Information Technology staff as needed.

Utilize customer service skills to respond to inquiries and comments in a courteous and professional manner, while maintaining a serious attitude toward every aspect of this job.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Sedentary: Desk work; Close vision work for extended periods of time; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement.  Carrying a personal computer or monitor at waist level weighing less than 25 pounds for a distance of less than 50 feet. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort. Work involves extended periods of detailed analytical work, concentration, and problem-solving in support of mission-critical systems and compliance driven processes. Requires sustained attention to data accuracy, system integrity, and regulatory timelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires an Associate degree in a computer related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience using problem-solving skills and applying programming logic and root-cause analysis to diagnose and resolve technical issues with complex, multi-system integrations.
  • Experience using SQL and other modern languages, such as Java.
  • Knowledge of Oracle relational database concepts.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of productivity tools.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with peers across the college, SMO, TBR, and sister institutions.
    • Ability to display patience, professionalism, and customer‑service skills when working with peers and users at varying levels of technical expertise.
    • Demonstrate capacity and willingness to expand knowledge base and adapt to new technologies, systems, and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Requirements of Education and Experience:

  • Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner Student.
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a Programmer/Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Business Analyst.
  • Experience with Argos, PL/SQL, ProC, Java, and Automic/UC4.
  • Experience with Banner Document Management (BDM), Report Manager (RM) or Output Transformation Server (OTS), or similar document‑processing automation.
  • Experience with a CRM system.
  • Experience developing scripts (e.g., JavaScript, batch files, shell scripts) to support system automation and data workflows.

Minimum starting salary is $54,784 annually ($28.09 per hour). With additional experience pay increase to a maximum of $68,508.
