Job Description The Shipboard Engineering Applications I team is an inclusive team of engineers and software developers responsible for a wide range of software applications. We design, develop, test, and maintain software that is used onboard Navy submarines and aircraft carriers, in shipyards, and at NNL to support engineers in making informed data-based decisions. As a member of the team, you would be supporting the creation of a new extensible architecture to replace our current suite of operator aides and data tools used by the nuclear fleet. This improved software will: Support desktop and mobile designs Decrease the burden of the nuclear operators. Improve the quality and timeliness of the data captured. Reduce technical debt by modernizing the application. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field. Preferred Skills Experience with or knowledge of C#, Go, SQL, full-stack web technologies (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, REST), VS Code, Visual Studio, Docker, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Checkmarx, Android, Integrated Software Unit Testing, Postgres, and Oracle Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles Basic understanding of programming concepts and object-oriented principles Basic understand of software development lifecycles (SDLC) Able to follow quality and coding standards; write clean, maintainable code Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with a team, independently, in stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, code reviews, and lessons learned meetings. Pay Range $63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guideline only.
