Job description

Systems Performance Engineer Senior

Location: Ideal candidates will be able to report to our Pulse Point location at 5650 University Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.

This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Systems Performance Engineer Senior is responsible for delivering application systems which meet the performance and throughput requirements of business stakeholders.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Assist business users in defining performance SLAs, test cases, and test plans.
  • Lead and coordinate performance engineering efforts for medium to large initiatives.
  • Gather, prepare, and document test data and expected system performance characteristics.
  • Collect and prepare test data for execution.
  • Develop and execute performance tests including load, stress, endurance, fail-over, and interoperability testing.
  • Analyze performance test results and production systems and recommend performance tuning improvements.
  • Identify, report, and review defects affecting system performance and stability.
  • Create reports documenting performance metrics, test results, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Monitor production system performance.
  • Lead peer reviews to ensure completeness of performance test assets.
  • Follow SDLC and performance engineering processes.
  • Resolve performance and stability issues in performance test environments.
  • Lead performance defect triage and coordinate performance engineering activities.
  • Develop performance engineering work plans, project schedules, and resource estimates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand performance and operational requirements.
  • Review architectural designs for performance risks and potential issues.
  • Prepare capacity analyses when applicable.
  • Facilitate: team efforts across multiple projects and/ or systems; improvement of the performance engineering process in the SDLC; resolution of production performance and stability issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study.
  • Seven (7) years of performance test engineering and performance testing experience, or related experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • Seven (7) years of required performance test engineering and performance testing experience, or related experience must include:
    • Performance Center.
    • LoadRunner.
    • Application monitoring tools including AppDynamics, Splunk, Wily, and CloudWatch.
    • CI/CD.
    • Jenkins.
    • REST.
    • Web services.
    • Databases including Oracle and SQL Server.
