Job Purpose
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and directing the day-to-day activities of the production process for a 8-hour shift (7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) The position involves supervising and developing multiple direct reports in all production disciplines to ensure company objectives are met and company policies are followed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prioritize, direct, and guide production management/activities of the shift
  • Manage the shift towards meeting company goals
  • Training and development of all production associates
  • Administrative duties including daily reports
  • Performance and disciplinary action management
  • Employee Relations responsibilities partnering with HR
  • Safety - incident reporting, accident investigation, etc

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Manufacturing/Operations/Engineering/Distribution or related field preferred or 1-3 years supervisory experience in Operations/Manufacturing/Distribution/Engineering
  • Must provide leadership and guidance for hourly production staff
  • Prioritize issues and assign appropriate resources for resolution
  • Work to maintain production schedule
  • Accurately complete all daily reports and paperwork
  • Maintain safety and 6S standards for a clean work environment
  • Able to multiple task, self-starter and motivated for change and improvement
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work overtime and weekends as well as some irregular hours. Will be exposed to some or all of the following: dust, odor, oils, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work regular overtime as well as some irregular hours. This position will be exposed to heavy machinery, noise and plastic resins regularly. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. This position is often required to stand throughout most of the workday and will also be required to use a computer throughout the day.
