POSITION SCOPE

The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports manufacturing and material‑handling processes by maintaining a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The technician will work on a defined set of equipment platforms, including spray systems, blasting equipment, dust collection systems, conveyors, pumps, forklifts, welders, and overhead crane systems, as well as additional equipment that may be introduced in the future.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and repair industrial spray equipment, including Graco spray systems.
  • Support blasting and surface preparation equipment, including Wheelabrator sand blasters.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot Farr dust collection systems, including filters, ducting, fans, and control components.
  • Maintain conveyor systems and industrial pumps, including bearings, motors, gearboxes, and drive systems.
  • Perform maintenance and basic diagnostics on Hyster forklifts; coordinate major repairs with vendors as required.
  • Support fabrication and repair activities involving Lincoln welding equipment.
  • Inspect, maintain, and assist with safe operation of Gorbel bridge cranes and overhead lifting systems, following applicable safety standards.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and training for new or currently undetermined equipment as plant needs evolve.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to identify equipment improvements and reliability upgrades.
  • Complete accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Participate in emergency repairs and scheduled after‑hours or on‑call support as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school, apprenticeship, or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience maintaining industrial or manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of:
    • Motors, drives, bearings, gearboxes
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Industrial electrical systems (480V, control wiring, sensors, relays)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience working safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Basic welding or fabrication experience preferred.
  • Computer skills sufficient to use CMMS systems, maintenance logs, and email.
  • Valid driver's license; forklift or crane certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments with noise, dust, and temperature variations.

Work Environment

  • This position is primarily based in an industrial manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and moving machinery.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
