Job description

The Associate Communications Specialist will be responsible for digital communication for various audiences with the overarching task to positively drive a consistent message directly promoting the WellMed Charitable Foundation and indirectly promoting the WellMed brand in the community. This position will play an integral hands-on role in working with other corporate departments and teams to implement internal and external brand awareness, marketing campaigns and corporate communication.  Although reporting directly to the Vice President, Social Responsibility, this position will work with additional colleagues and team leaders to ensure the message is consistent, clear and concise.

This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be aligned to your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify target audiences and tailor content to maximize engagement and reach.
  • Create, curate, and manage high-quality content (text, image, video) across platforms.
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for campaign development and lead follow through to increase potential revenue generation.
  • Monitor, respond to, and engage with followers in a timely and authentic manner.
  • Foster online communities and manage reputation across platforms.
  • Track performance metrics and generate regular reports to assess effectiveness.
  • Use insights to optimize content and strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with platform updates, trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Experiment with new formats and approaches to keep content fresh and relevant.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, Marketing, Communications or a related field required. 4 years of comparable work experience with a High School Diploma/ GED or associate's degree in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1 years of experience with written communication, advertising and marketing coordination activities
  • Has previously worked OR is currently working as a contractor placed at UGH OR one of its subsidiaries OR affiliates
  • Develop and deliver creative solutions that strengthen the brand distinction
  • Teambuilding abilities, leader, with coaching skills, keen judgment and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media principles and trends
  • Marketing and/or communications experience within a healthcare environment

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within Texas
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with tight deadlines while paying close attention to the details of all deliverables.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $24 - $43 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
