JOB SUMMARY
Provides comprehensive clinical data and analytical support for the UTSW Health System through collaboration, innovation, and efficiency. Ensures reporting compliance with required guidelines from governmental and state authorities, certifying bodies, national databases, registries, and institutional initiatives. Registries may include, but are not limited to, CathPCI, VQI, CP-MI, CAD, Resuscitation, TVT, NSQIP, and LAAO. May also be trained to support mortality and PSI reviews.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in related clinical or healthcare data management 
     
  • Experience
    No experience with Bachelor's degree or 
    1 year equivalent experience in clinical or healthcare data management with no degree 
    Experience with using Microsoft Office Applications 
     

Preferred

  • Experience
    Epic experience preferred 
    Data platform knowledge preferred 
     
  • Licenses and Certifications
    (RN) REGISTERED NURSE Upon Hire or
    (LVN) LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE Upon Hire 
     


JOB DUTIES

  • Acquire proficiency and maintain knowledge with the following:
    • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
    • Regulatory guidelines and certification(s) requirements, processes, and trends for data reporting
    • Performance improvement measures, reference materials, and definitions
    • Various platforms using data management and querying skills to extract, validate and summarize data
    • Clinical performance improvement initiatives to be able to provide comprehensive analytical support
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and professional communication skills; both written and spoken.
  • Work with mentor to develop analytical ability sufficient to evaluate data, make sound judgments and recommendations.
  • Adhere to regulatory and data deadlines.
  • Participate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings.
  • Complete projects as assigned with assistance.
  • Fulfill department expectations and goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
