Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the preparation and analysis of internal financial statements including the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement. Analyzes actual results against prior year, forecasts and budgets.
  • Prepares monthly internal financial reports for distribution by department / cost center that show month and YTD actual performance vs. budget and prior year.
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; timely monthly reconciliation of accounts.
  • Responsible for financial oversight of all internal orders in the system. This includes capital projects and tooling / engineering orders. Ensures the timely billing to the customer for tooling / engineering orders, and records journal entries to recognize the costs as appropriate (following the matching principle).
  • Coordinates the capitalization of fixed assets when assets are placed into service and records depreciation expense as appropriate.
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Prepares and reviews various types of project analysis (Appropriations Requests, financial models, other ad-hoc analysis).
  • Assists with year-end external audit and periodic internal audits.
  • Assists in cost accounting and other special accounting projects.
  • Assists with the preparation and performance of the physical inventory count and reconciliation.

Qualifications:
  • 4 year Accounting degree
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • 3 years' experience in a similar role in a manufacturing organization desired
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with SAP and similar ERP systems
  • Excellent attention to detail /accuracy
