Job description

Overview
We are seeking a Associate Director in our Pacific region. As the leader, you will guide your team in achieving organizational objectives while nurturing our employees' growth for their future careers at AprilAire.
This role focuses on our Residential Services and Repair channel and the team who manages our distributor and HVAC contractor accounts within this region.
Candidate Location: Candidate must be located within a city with a major airport. Ideal cities include Denver, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Portland, and Phoenix.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing leadership, people development, and driving revenue growth to an existing team of Business Development Specialists in the region in the RSR channel.
  • Manages, coaches, and motivates team of regional Business Development Specialists to reach sales objectives.
  • Initiates increased sales and enhanced customer relationships. Stays on top of changes in the industry and makes sure the corporation is positioned to take advantage of those changes.
  • Identifies market size, selling price, competitive product matrix including pricing, who buys, and how the new product would fit with BDS's day-to-day activity.
  • Leads the development of an Annual Operating Plan for each territory in region, identifying realistic opportunities to increase sales growth and the activities, resources, collateral, and support needed for successful implementation. Executes plan through BDS, getting involved when necessary but otherwise providing autonomy.
  • Sets clear expectations and realistic goals. Holds staff accountable for reaching agreed upon goals.
  • Manages the preparation and execution of promotional programs in accordance with sales plan, reporting performance measurements, and generating ideas for future programs.
  • Ensures sales managers have the resources, tools, and support needed to do their jobs. Advocates for the team, removing obstacles so they can focus on selling.
  • Leads the hiring process for their region including interviewing, decision making, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Encourages open and honest communication to build strong and trusting relationships. Asks for staff feedback and manages own ego to listen.
  • Manages employee performance by understanding each employee's strengths and learning opportunities, encourages career growth, new ideas, and development of team.
  • Communicates new product concepts to team. As the conduit between the corporate office and the FSF, connects intent with how to execute and communicates in a way that resonates and develops a sense of purpose.
  • Acts decisively to correct poor performance and deal with conflict. Gives timely, objective, and useful feedback. Applies the appropriate resolution (directing, training, counseling, empowering, or coaching).
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships across sales channels, product management, marketing, etc.
  • Manages sales activity and maintains a deep understanding of regional activities.
  • Promotes and ensures the use of CRM (Goldmine) by sales team.
  • Manages regional sales and expense budgets.
  • Possesses and maintains an in-depth knowledge of HVAC industry and AprilAire product lines as well as an understanding of lines represented by competitors
  • Travels with the sales team

  • Ability to travel across your region 40% of the time across the Pacific region, Southwest, and some areas of the Rocky Mountains.
