Job description

Position Mission:
The Associate Category Manager will support the Category Manager in driving growth and profitability of a specific category or group of categories, whilst ensuring an optimal mix of Financial, Operational and Customer outcomes.
Position Performance Measures:
Financial
Contribute toward and aid the Category Manager in achieving KPIS:
• APG and ASG category sales
• POS Sales out
• APG and ASG gross profit (GP)
- Trading Margin (Buy/Sell)
- Gross Margin (inclusive of all rebates)
- Supplier Income
• Inventory Turn Over
• GMROI (evolve to GMROIC)
Operational
• Timeline and process adherence
- Promotion process
- In store planograms
- Line reviews
- Procurement / Sourcing
Customer
• Timely feedback to all stakeholder queries
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate promotions process across all publications and all channels for assigned categories, ensuring key time lines and process milestones are met
• Work closely with the supplier base to ensure adherence to all expectations associated with promotions
• Administer all supplier income, ensuring timely and accurate billing and reporting
• Manage the set up of all new lines and new suppliers, ensuring all information is captured accurately and in line with key process milestones
• Work with the planogram team on developing customer facing planograms, where applicable
• Work cross functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders, ensuring all queries associated with the categories are filtered and responded to in a timely manner
• Support the Category Manager in the day to day operational aspects of their category assignment
• Maximize Digital channel opportunities (B2C/B2B)
• Administer annual promotional plans (retail and wholesale)
• Manage administration associated with Agreement Sheets, ensuring all information is captured accurately and timely
• Facilitate outcomes in conjunction with the sourcing team on key category sourcing projects, ensuring all time lines and process steps are met
• Regular reporting on category performance

• 1-2 Years of Category leadership experience desired, in a fast paced organization - ideally a multi site distribution or retail business
• Strong administrative and time management abilities
• Tertiary qualifications in business or related discipline preferred
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
• Work is performed in a typical office environment and retail store environment. In retail store there may exposure to noise, dust, fumes, or temperature shifts. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
• Travel to the various operations, estimated to be approximately 40-50% of time, required.
