Company Overview

This role is ideal for a highly strategic and results-driven professional with direct experience in Private Brands/Private Label sourcing, product development, merchandising, or buying. As a key contributor to our Private Brands team, you will lead the development and commercialization of innovative products that drive sales, profit, and market share growth across assigned categories. This is a dedicated Private Brands buying and sourcing/manager role - not a marketing position - and hands-on Private Brands experience is required. You will play a critical role in identifying market opportunities, developing new products, growing existing assortments, optimizing sourcing strategies, managing complex projects, and building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Success in this role requires a passion for bringing quality Private Brand products to market, delivering consumer-focused solutions, and executing promotional strategies that support overall business objectives.


Job Details

• Deliver new Private Brands products to market on time with targeted quality and cost in assigned categories 20%
• Lead a cross-functional team of analysts, product development, QA, supply chain and supplier persons to develop and introduce new products, improve existing products and effectively market and promote the brand(s) to consumers 20%
• Develop and execute promotional plans to achieve financial goals. 10%
• Partner with Demand Planning to optimize in stocks and resolve issues 10%
• Develop business reviews (category assessments) to identify and recommend private brand opportunities 20%
• Ensure business plan is executed properly: pricing, distribution, promotion plan, etc. 10%
• Work with key suppliers and other 3rd parties to create products and marketing programs 10%


Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work across multiple categories
  • Advanced skills in category analysis, planning and project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of initiative, along with excellent execution capabilities
  • Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships at all levels of
  • the company and in the supplier community
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and supervisory skills
  • Syndicated research experience with good understanding of marketing, merchandising, and retail
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related field. 2+ years of relevant

experience in category management, sourcing and/or product development/commercialization

required. Previous experience in a Retail environment strongly desired.
