Job description

Epic BI DeveloperPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced Epic BI Developer to join our team and support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data warehousing initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise within Epic's Cogito suite, be highly proficient in SQL, and serve as a subject matter expert for reporting and analytics solutions. This individual will not only develop and maintain reporting assets but will also provide mentorship and guidance to other developers as questions arise within their day-to-day work.

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of Epic reporting tools, data models, and best practices, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams to deliver impactful business intelligence solutions.


Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Intelligence & Reporting Development
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions utilizing Epic's Cogito toolset.
  • Create and optimize reports, dashboards, extracts, and data solutions to support operational, clinical, and financial stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective reporting and data solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance across reporting environments.
Epic Cogito Development
  • Leverage Epic Cogito tools to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Utilize Clarity and Caboodle data structures to build scalable reporting solutions.
  • Work with Clinical and operational data models to support enterprise reporting initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot reporting issues and identify opportunities for performance improvements.
Mentorship & Team Support
  • Serve as a Sr. resource and mentor for other BI developers.
  • Provide technical guidance and best practices related to Epic reporting, SQL development, and data modeling.
  • Assist team members with troubleshooting, solution design, and development challenges.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to team growth and development.
Data Integration & Source Control
  • Support data integration efforts and ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to maintain reporting environments and data pipelines.
  • Utilize source control methodologies and participate in version management processes.
  • Contribute to development standards and documentation practices.

Required Qualifications
