We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused professional to join our team as a Business Development Representative. This is an onsite position offering an excellent opportunity for a sales-driven individual to build a career in the furniture and lighting industry while enjoying a predictable business-hours schedule.


Position Summary

The Business Development Representative plays a key role in generating and qualifying leads, supporting the sales team, and building strong customer relationships. This individual will engage with prospective and existing customers, identify opportunities for growth, and help deliver exceptional customer experience.


Responsibilities

• Qualify prospective customers and distribute leads to the appropriate sales team members.

• Lead outbound prospecting efforts through phone calls, email campaigns, and follow-up communications.

• Monitor inbound inquiries and ensure timely lead response and distribution.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and prospects.

• Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate product solutions.

• Support the sales team in managing, maintaining, and growing existing accounts.

• Coordinate with customer service, operations, and sales teams to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Prepare freight quotes and assist customers with order-related inquiries.

• Monitor inventory availability and communicate product information to customers and sales representatives.

• Enter and maintain lead and customer information within company databases and CRM platforms, including Mailchimp.

• Assist with sales and marketing initiatives designed to generate new business opportunities.


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a sales role with quota or performance-based goals.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Experience in retail sales, inside sales, customer service sales, or business development is highly preferred.
  • Retail sales professionals with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue and building customer relationships are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in furniture, lighting, home furnishings, or related industries is a plus.
