Associate โ€“ Business Development (Draper, UT)

Overview

Scalar is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Associate of Business Development to join our team in Draper, Utah. This individual will play a key role in driving revenue growth by sourcing new valuation opportunities across private and public companies, institutional investors, and professional service firms (e.g., attorneys, auditors, and investment professionals).

This is a high-impact, client-facing role suited for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and are motivated by performance-based compensation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively source new business opportunities through outbound outreach and relationship development
  • Build and maintain relationships with C-level executives, founders, and key decision-makers
  • Develop and expand referral networks with channel partners, including attorneys, auditors, and investment firms
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within Scalarโ€™s existing client base
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop, tailor, and deliver client proposals and presentations
  • Consistently execute against individual and firm-wide revenue goals
  • Maintain a high level of activity, organization, and pipeline management

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably in a consultative or value-based selling environment
  • Experience within a professional services firm or related industry is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage senior-level executives
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Self-starter with a high degree of accountability, initiative, and drive
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with and ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar platforms) to enhance productivity, research, and outreach effectiveness
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Compensation
