Job description


Job Duties: Associate, Banker - CSG with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Create pitches including quantitative and qualitative analysis around regular way foreign exchange (FX) and interest rate risk management as well as potential risk scenarios embedded in cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and foreign currency debt capital raises. Analyze how a company and a financial sponsor's financial position may be impacted by FX and interest rate exposure. Analyze comparable company hedging activities and disclosures by reviewing companies' SEC filings including 10-Ks. Create detailed models that adjust currency risk for volatility and correlation with other currencies to facilitate companies' accurate assessment of the true risk they face pre- and post-hedging. Proactively identify commercial opportunities relating to FX and interest rate hedging. Present to companies' Treasurers and Risk Management teams on current market environment and recent relevant developments, how to approach FX and interest rate exposure, and hedging alternatives. Serve as day-to-day client contact in the private equity space, working closely and developing relationships with senior executives at private equity firms, Risk Management teams, and Capital Markets Heads. Execute trades, pricing products ranging from vanilla products, e.g. FX forwards or options, to more complicated products such as forward volatility agreements, average rate forwards, and knock-in/knock-out options. Price Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA) including expected and maximum potential exposure created by trades over time and the impact that those trades will have on a portfolio of risks. Book trades accurately and quickly book risk producing trades in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field, and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field, and three (3) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior employment must include one (1) year of experience (with a Master's) OR three (3) years of experience (with a Bachelor's) with: creating corporate client presentations in the trade execution process; working with statistical concepts including normal distribution and confidence intervals; applying macroeconomics to analyze the fundamental and technical drivers of foreign exchange rates and interest rates including the effects of the current and financial account and monetary policy; derivative hedge accounting to ensure compliance with FAS 133 and 155 accounting standards; working with a wide range of foreign exchange derivatives, inputs/drivers of pricing, and implementation; negotiating business terms in ISDAs, Credit Support Annexes (CSAs), and interpreting the terms in those documents and sale and purchase agreements; and working with foreign exchange market conventions, including identifying base currencies with respect to the U.S. dollar and using industry terminology required to execute trades.
Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York-based position $128,000 - $150,000.
