Job description

Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally.

We are currently seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer. The Senior Full Stack Developer will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of cloud connected applications and services that support our product ecosystem. This position requires strong proficiency in .NET/C#, Azure cloud development, SQL based databases, and modern frontend technologies including React and TypeScript. Experience with Docker and containerization is required, as many of our applications are deployed using container-based architectures. The developer will work closely with a team of frontend and backend engineers and coordinate with internal DevOps resources to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure application delivery. Familiarity with OIDC and related authentication standards is considered a plus. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.

This position reports to the Director of Cloud Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain fullstack applications using .NET/C#, React, and TypeScript.
  • Develop cloudbased services and components within Microsoft Azure, including APIs, functions, and application services.
  • Implement SQLbased data models and queries using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational databases.
  • Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker; assist in container orchestration and deployment workflows.
  • Collaborate with frontend and backend developers to ensure cohesive system architecture and functionality.
  • Work closely with internal DevOps to support CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, and deployment processes.
  • Utilize Bitbucket for source control and Jira for issue tracking and project management.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns; familiarity with OIDC, OAuth2, or similar standards is a plus.
  • Participate in system architecture planning, requirements development, and design documentation.
  • Develop user interfaces, system interfaces, and diagnostic tools as required.
  • Assist in system integration, testing, and validation of cloudconnected applications.
  • Document produced source code, system behavior, and test results.
  • Support existing applications and legacy implementations as needed.
  • Mentor associate engineers and interns.
  • Participate in application lab testing and occasional field testing.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • 7+ years of experience developing software using .NET/C#.

Working Conditions

  • Daily job duties will consist of office, lab, and desk work with occasional field testing required.
  • Candidates may be required to work underground, but on an infrequent basis.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near large moving machinery.
  • Customer operations may contain airborne particles and allergens.
  • Matrix employees are furnished and required to wear safety gear such as hard hats, steel toe shoes, reflective clothing, earplugs, and safety glasses when needed.
  • Occasional travel and ability to work various shifts as required by customer.
