This role will focus on creating holistic marketing strategies for specific genres and verticals, leveraging data analytics to identify untapped opportunities within our core catalog. What you'll do:

  • Data-Driven Account Support: Work closely with the account team to identify backlist titles for price promotions and curate themed groupings.
  • Lifecycle Analytics: Analyze the results of backlist promotions and use those insights to inform future strategy and "always-on" marketing opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with broader Macmillan teams and internal stakeholders (Social, Advertising, and Editorial) to integrate audio into larger company-wide initiatives.
  • Seasonal Campaigns: Identify holiday-specific or monthly cultural opportunities to highlight catalog titles through targeted digital efforts.

What you'll bring:

  • Analytical Proficiency: Strong Excel skills and Power BI experience with a proven ability to interpret sales data and marketing metrics to identify trends and actionable opportunities.
  • Data-Informed Creativity: Leverage sales analytics to develop and execute targeted marketing strategies that capitalize on emerging trends.
  • Strategic Thinking: Create overarching plans for niche audiences while maintaining an understanding of broader catalog and trends.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to disseminate data findings through clear written recaps and verbal presentations to stakeholders.
  • Organizational Agility: Balance detailed-oriented work with the ability to manage marketing efforts for hundreds of titles simultaneously.
  • Collaborative Mindset: A self-starter who can work effectively across different departments and interests to maximize catalog visibility.

Experience Needed:

  • Associate: At least 2-3 years of experience in marketing, preferably within book publishing.
  • Associate Manager: At least 3-5 years of experience in marketing, preferably within book publishing.
  • Proven experience using data to drive marketing decisions or promotional strategies.
  • College degree or equivalent professional experience required.

Salary range for this position is between (Associate) $52,000-$55,000 and (Associate Manager) $60,000-$65,000 depending on experience.
