MaineHealth Endocrinology and Diabetes is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient clinical team at our Scarborough, ME location. Come join a regional team of 23 providers to partner with patients in managing all types of diabetes using lifestyle, medications, and technology in a fast growing and expanding field of diabetes care. A minimum of 2 years diabetes care experience is required for this role.
Schedule: 40 hours per week, no Holidays, Call or Evenings.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate/Assistant program.
  • MSN or DNP required for Maine Nurse Practitioner license; MSPA or similar master's degree required for Maine PA license.
  • 2 years APP experience with at least 1 year of diabetes specialty experience is required
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of advanced practice nursing or physician assistant practice, including relevant professional theory, practices, and regulations related to the evaluation and delivery of patient care, as well as professional ethics governing clinical care.
  • Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status, including state of wellness and compliance with care recommendations.
  • Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, multitasking and other organizational matters.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions within scope of NP/PA Practice.
  • Ability to educate patients, families, and staff in user-friendly manner.
  • Strong computer skills with skill in using computerized health information management system.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff and the public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • The pay range for this position is $110,483 to $142,978 annually based on the candidate's level of experience.
