Asst/Assoc/Professor - Ophthalmologist, Cosmetic/General

Position Description:

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences provides informed and compassionate care for a variety of vision and eye conditions, including adult and pediatric retina, glaucoma, cataracts, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, external eye diseases, and emergency services. Additionally, we offer high quality and personalized LASIK and refractive surgery, as well as a full range of optometry services including contact lenses and eyeglasses.

Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of oculofacial and orbital conditions.

  • Clinical care of patients with complex oculoplastic needs, both surgical and medical.

  • Patient care responsibilities including, but not limited to, Outpatient Clinic, Inpatient hospital service and consults, and in-office procedures. Participate in department call schedule.

  • Clinical duties including responsibilities for treating patients while accompanied by learners such as our students and residents. Encompassing an active role in departmental resident teaching (e.g. evaluating curriculum and instruction to residents)

  • Contributing to the clinical/patient care, research and teaching missions of the Department by supporting the Health Sciences Center’s mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty and staff.
