Job Title: Visiting Assistant Professor of Business (full-time) or Adjunct Instructor of Business (part-time)

Classification: Full-time, one-year, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track faculty position or part-time adjunct faculty position

Reports To: Social Sciences and Humanities Division Head

Job Summary/Objective: Sweet Briar College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Business or Adjunct Instructor of Business with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate member will teach a variety of courses that lead to a B.A. in Business with a particular focus on teaching in marketing, will have the opportunity to make contributions to our innovative womenโ€™s leadership core curriculum.ย ย 

Sweet Briar is a liberal arts college for women with a long history of forging female leaders. Sweet Briar College is repeatedly named by the US News and World Report as one of the most innovative liberal arts colleges in the nation. Sweet Briar College is growing rapidly, attracting students who are drawn to it for its excellent liberal arts program, coupled with distinctive programs in women leadership, engineering, sustainability, arts and its legendary equestrian program.ย 

Located in the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains approximately 12 miles north of Lynchburg and 54 miles south of Charlottesville. Required Qualifications:

  • M.B.A. or D.B.A., or related degree, and a minimum of threeย years of relevant experience in marketing, or a Ph. D. in a relevant field;
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and excellent communication skills

The salary range for the Full Timeย position is $55,000.00- $65,000.00 per year. This is commensurate with education and experience and will be determined in accordance with institutional guidelines.
