Summary
Provost & Pritchard is offering an opportunity for associate level civil engineers to work with community services and public utility districts that provide municipal services. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a senior district engineer as a consultant or as an employee within the public works/engineering divisions of a services district or city. The candidate shall have a diversity of experience working on municipal infrastructure, including water, sewer, stormwater, streets, and/or site development infrastructure projects and the general requirements of municipal services districts. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and work closely with clients, and work in multidisciplinary project design teams. The candidate will have experience working on feasibility study, design, and construction projects with the ability to solve problems independently and in a team environment.
Duties
  • Support the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects. Preparation of Preliminary Engineering Reports. Preparation of construction documents.
  • Ensure that all engineering activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop or update improvement standards and drawings.
  • Review applications for development, prepare conditions of approval and review developer improvement plans.
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of financial assistance applications and feasibility studies.
  • Support the administration of construction contracts, including the public bidding and construction process.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation related to engineering projects, regulatory compliance, and operational performance, as directed by senior staff.

Qualifications
  • Civil/Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • California Professional Engineer license (Civil)
  • 5+ years of experience in the engineering field supporting senior staff with studies, investigations, and designs delivering positive results for clients.
  • Experience in planning, design and construction of water, sewer and storm drain infrastructure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
