What's the role?

The Application Developer is responsible for technical design, development, testing, implementation, administration, and support of the HighJump Warehouse Management System (WMS), as well as other internal WMS developed applications.In this function she/he collaborates with the application users to improve current processes, develop solution proposal to fulfill the changing business needs and programming of new functionality. Training and support of key-users is part of the role to assure a strong knowledgeable user community.

ZEISS will provide and pay for HighJump training. Willingness to complete this training is required.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Analyze business requirements of the Warehouse , describe solutions and alternatives.

  • Development and programming of functionality, reports and system solutions based on the business requirements

  • Implementation of system solutions through the development life cycle including testing and documentation.

  • Maintain and monitor developed applications and databases.

  • Assure second level support of these systems.

  • Work with the user community to determine business requirements.

  • Training of key-user in new system functionality

Do you qualify?

  • In-depth knowledge of WMS, Shipping & Logistics, OMS in a high-volume transaction environment

  • HighJump preferred but not necessary (We will train on HighJump) , Warehouse Advantage, Advantage Architect, WebWise reporting software knowledge and system administrative knowledge

  • Minimum 3 years SQL Server experience, preferably SQL Server 2016 or greater, with advanced stored procedures, Transact-SQL and SQL Integration Services required

  • Expertise in .NET technologies (C#, ASP) a plus

  • Expertise with SSRS, SSIS desired

  • Ability to execute assigned tasks with a high degree of independence based on verbal or written requirements

  • Strong problem solving, cross-functional analysis and forward-thinking abilities

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
