Hiring for projects in Columbia/Lexington Area


Position Summary

Network Controls and Electric Inc. has an immediate need for an experienced Access Control Technician. The Access Control Technician will install specified card access systems offered by Network Controls to existing and new clientele throughout the Greater Columbia marketplace. Some travel may be required but will be on a case-by-case basis and is generally limited to a maximum of 2 weeks in duration.


Position Responsibilities

  • Install the following hardware:
    • Card or Biometric Readers
    • Door Contact & Door Position Switches
    • Electronic Strike or Mag Locks
    • Electronic Latch Retraction Kits
    • Associated control cabling when required
  • Configure software and set up doors & schedules
  • Install any mercury-based control module
  • Effectively communicate job status via email or other reporting system
  • Interface with customer and assigned Project Manager on production
  • Additional responsibilities/duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Must be proficient in the following systems:
    • Mercury-based control panels
    • Avigilon ACM
    • Genetec Synergis
    • Paxton Net 2, Paxton 10
    • Axis
  • Avigilon ACC 6 or greater
  • Valerus
  • ExacqVision
  • Genetec Omnicast
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and web-based applications
  • Teamwork oriented with mentoring skills and a willingness to help others
  • The ability to work with all departments internally
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Valid in-state Driver's License and acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Report/Driving Record)

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Tech School degree preferred.
