We are actively seeking a Network Infrastructure Technician to join and grow in the PPG organization. The Network Infrastructure Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the physical technology infrastructure throughout the manufacturing facility. This hands-on role focuses on network hardware, structured cabling, machine monitoring systems, IP camera systems, access control, kiosk computers, VoIP phone systems, and other connected devices that support daily manufacturing operations.

Requirements
  • Assist with the installation of network switches, wireless access points, routers, and other network hardware.
  • Install and terminate CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A network cabling and maintain structured cabling throughout the facility.
  • Label, organize, and document all network connections and equipment.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting and coordinate with senior IT staff or vendors on complex issues.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of machine monitoring hardware and connected devices.
  • Support manufacturing kiosks, industrial PCs, barcode scanners, label printers, and operator terminals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IP camera systems.
  • Support electronic access control systems including badge readers, door controllers, and associated hardware.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot VoIP desk phones and related communication devices.
  • Assist users with phone moves, additions, and changes.
  • Configure kiosk computers and shared workstations.
  • Assist with other IT related hardware deployment, upgrades, and replacements.
  • Provide professional and timely technical support to employees throughout the facility.
  • Follow company cybersecurity and IT security policies.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure or IT hardware.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting network devices.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking.
  • Experience terminating and testing structured cabling.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely work in an active manufacturing environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience with manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience supporting machine monitoring or industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with IP camera and access control systems.
  • Experience supporting VoIP phone systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and network documentation.
  • Excellent cable management and installation practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple support requests.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders when necessary.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside normal business hours for system upgrades or maintenance.
  • Occasional travel to Florida and California facilities
