Job description

MTSI is looking for an Aerospace Ground Engineer. Looking for Subject Matter Expert in military and commercial Power Generation, Distribution, and Control Systems, along with in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, supporting Space Force assets worldwide. Support includes both in-garrison and deployed technical expertise and manual labor for setup, operation, maintenance, teardown, packing, and transport of advanced communications systems.
Key Functions
  • Install, configure, maintain, and repair electrical systems and distribution equipment including military and commercial power distribution systems.
  • Design electrical systems for new equipment, ensuring proper integration and power quality within existing infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, and repair military, commercial, fixed and deployable HVAC systems.

Required Education /Experience
  • Associates of Science in a STEM field.
  • 4+ years experience as an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Technician
  • Experience with high, medium, and low voltage testing.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.

Required Skills
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform preventative maintenance of power generation, distribution, and electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty HVAC equipment using diagnostic tools.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters).
  • Knowledge and understanding of UPS maintenance, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Creating, reading, and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to communicate technical details and plans including interaction and presentation to team members at all levels.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and safety regulations.
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on customer needs.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.

Desired Education/ Experience
  • 8+ years experience as an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Technician.
  • Experience with deployable antenna systems and associated equipment.
  • Experience with manual and auto transfer switch theory, maintenance, and operations.
  • Military mobility/military airlift and commercial logistics experience.

Desired Skills
  • Forklift operator certified; 6k, 10k, electric/gas powered, all-terrain.
  • Active or ability to obtain commercial driver's license to support delivery or movement of systems to and from vendors and/or test ranges and sites.
  • Basic understanding of network fundamentals and IP based systems.
  • Basic understanding of RF fundamentals and basic antenna components.
  • Familiarity with assembly and disassembly of various shelter systems, including inflatable tents, modular structures, and containerized units.

Clearance Requirements
  • Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

Travel
  • This position will required overnight travel up to 20% of the time. Trip durations may range from overnight to multiple weeks.
  • This position is onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $85,000/year to $120,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
