Position Summary: The Associate Advisor will work to gain knowledge of commercial lines insurance to successfully gain technical and sales knowledge. As an Associate Advisor you will begin with an in-depth training program and will have exposure to existing clients with the opportunity to be mentored by experienced Advisors. Learn the firm's insurance and commercial risk management value proposition to support the clients' needs and passions.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Through training you will be responsible for growing your own book of business which will include generating, prospecting, soliciting, and closing new accounts as well as beginning to retain your own clients

  • Identify and generate new sales opportunities through analysis and discovery

  • Participate in sales meetings to review sales activities and prospective customers with leadership

  • Develop a full working knowledge of commercial Lines/private risk and/or employee benefits products and procedures

  • Learns to present proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure understanding

  • Maintains an understanding and knowledge of insurance industry and underwriting criteria for Insurance Company Partners represented by firm to effectively communicate to all involved.

Education, Experience, Skills/Abilities - Requirements:

  • Obtain and maintain a state insurance license, as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions (or be willing and able to obtain all required licenses within the first 90 days of employment)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to learn appropriate insurance company and firm software systems

  • Demonstrates core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with the firm's culture

  • Special Working Conditions: Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
