Job description

This position is part of the Associate Administrator for Management and Budget, Department of Energy. A successful candidate in this position will serve as Budget Analyst, providing advanced financial management and administrative support for NNSA Headquarters. The incumbent independently administers the corporate PPBE system, leads complex cost estimations, conducts analyses of alternatives, and delivers analytical support to optimize resource allocation across programs.Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-02 or GS-12. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience in federal budget analysis, demonstrating mastery across budget formulation, presentation, and execution. Independently coordinates, develops, and defends high-impact deliverables across diverse program elements in compliance with financial regulations. Adept at interpreting complex guidelines, resolving systemic budgetary discrepancies, and providing authoritative resource optimization guidance to senior leadership.


Examples of Specialized Experience (but not limited to):
1. Developed annual budget estimates, formulated justification narratives for the Human Resources office review, and monitored monthly spending against plan.
2. Analyzed complex financial data to project quarterly personnel and travel resource needs for an organization.
3. Administered budget execution using federal financial systems to track, commit, and obligate funds.
