This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Please note that per our policy on hybrid/virtual work, candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless accommodation is granted as required by law.

The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the determination of rates, analyzing, developing, and validating statistical data.

How you will make an impact:

  • Under limited supervision, applies the appropriate actuarial analytical tools to the data and performs preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis.
  • Updates actuarial pricing, valuation and forecasting models as directed.
  • Refines and collects appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its reasonableness and accuracy by coordination within the division.
  • Prepares analyses and communicates findings and recommendations to actuarial colleagues, business partners, and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and to have passed a minimum of one Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exam; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Strong academic achievement and demonstrated success in academic, extracurricular, internship, professional, or community experiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities and an interest in contributing to the healthcare industry.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with one or more analytical or programming tools such as R, Python, SAS, SQL, or VBA.
  • Interest or experience using AI-enabled tools for analysis, automation, or productivity.
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials beyond the minimum requirement. Candidates who have passed multiple actuarial exams and/or have prior relevant actuarial internship experience are especially encouraged to apply.
