Essential Job Duties

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct all aspects of insurance follow-up and collections, including account resolution, payer communications, and utilization of payer portals and systems to ensure accounts are progressing appropriately
  • Work assigned accounts to resolution, including basic denials and appeals 
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts under guidance
  • Ensure compliance with payer regulations, company policies, and applicable healthcare laws
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize revenue cycle performance
  • Follow departmental best practices and processes 
  • Identify and document denial reasons 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed account notes 
  • Meet daily productivity and quality expectations 
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Senior Associates or Team Leads 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Maintain or exceed A/R resolution targets (e.g., accounts worked and resolved within established timelines).
  • Meet or exceed productivity benchmarks (e.g., accounts worked per day/week based on complexity).
  • Demonstrate quality and accuracy standards, minimizing rework and errors in account handling.

Experience & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in physician collections, A/R follow-up, and denial management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with reporting and data analysis tools preferred
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • In-depth knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy laws; maintains strict compliance at all times.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Pay Range
$50,000—$65,000 USD
