Job description

Position OverviewExperienced accounting professional responsible for performing complex accounting activities, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information. This role requires technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Analyze financial data, prepare and review account reconciliations and journal entries, identify and resolve discrepancies, and contribute to process improvements that strengthen financial reporting and methods of analysis.A Day in the Life

Perform and review sometimes complex general ledger accounting activities and ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. Prepare, review, and maintain detailed account reconciliations and supporting documentation. Analyze financial results and investigate variances. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met.

Prepare financial schedules, reports, and management analyses as needed. Assist with annual planning and monthly forecasting activities, including preparation of supporting schedules and variance explanations. Research accounting issues and provide recommendations for appropriate accounting treatment. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency.

Support internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules, documentation, and explanations. Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Payroll, Tax, and other business functions to resolve accounting-related issues. Review work performed by accounting staff and provide guidance and support when appropriate.

Perform other accounting and financial analysis responsibilities as assigned.

You'll Come With

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

Experience: At least 3+ years of experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial close activities.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP or financial accounting systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Oracle Financials experience is a plus
  • Cognos Analytics experience is a plus
