An Assisted Living Driver is a professional responsible for safely transporting residents of assisted living facilities to various destinations, such as medical appointments, social outings, and shopping trips. They operate facility vehicles, assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, and ensure passenger safety throughout the journey. Additionally, Assisted Living Drivers often help residents with mobility challenges and maintain a friendly, supportive environment during transportation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an assisted living driver, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Assisted Living Driver, you need a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and knowledge of safe vehicle operation, often supported by CPR/First Aid certification. Familiarity with wheelchair lifts, GPS navigation systems, and scheduling or dispatch software is typically required.
