Job description

Centurion is proud to be the provider of dental services to the Florida Department of Corrections. 

We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at Taylor Correctional Institution located in Perry, Florida.

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.

Essential Duties:

  • Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
  • Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
  • Operating radiographic equipment
  • Administrative tasks as needed
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required 
  • Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or 12 months of experience as a Dental Assistant required 
  • Certified Dental Assistant license and/or Expanded Dental Assistant Certificate or ability to obtain one required within first 6 months of employment 
  • Florida Radiograph Certificate, or ability to obtain one required within the first 6 months of employment 
  • Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation preferred, or willing to obtain one upon hire
  • Certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or willing to obtain one upon hire
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Available Shift: Days, 7AM-3:30PM; Monday-Friday
