Program Assistant
The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the client services department with daily administrative operations and functions and supporting the program staff in meeting client needs. HOURS: 40 hours weekly minimum or as necessary to achieve program objectives, responsibilities, and tasks. Work Schedule to include Sunday Off, Monday - Thursday 8:30 amโ5:30 pm; Friday 8:30 amโ3 pm; Saturday Off Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and coordinating client programs, events, and activities.
- Support program growth and development as necessary.
- Coordinate program communications.
- Assist with coordinating collaboration relationships between staff, clients, and community stakeholders and identify appropriate programmatic resources.
- Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events.
- Create and maintain program records and documents to be stored on the Public Drive
- Assist with answering the agency's 24-hour crisis intervention hotline calls and face-to-face advocacy and intervention.
- Provide direct and indirect advocacy, assistance, and follow-up to victims/secondary victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
- Assist with Community Awareness Events for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and Teen Dating Violence
- Represent the agency in public presentations, professional training, awareness activities, and member/group coalitions.
- Directly assist with all administrative functions within client services departments
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate-level position with strong administrative skills and computer knowledge.
Education and Other Requirements:
- Minimum of a 2-year degree or comparable experience.
- Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.
- Must have a clean driving record/automobile insurance coverage/be insurable/ have at least three years of verifiable driving experience. No more than 2 moving violations in a 3-year period for drivers over the age of 25. No more than 1 moving violation in a 3-year period for drivers ages 21-25
- Provide proof and maintain personal automobile insurance coverage.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.
Job-Specific Competencies:
- Computer knowledge of programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills to assist with in-the-moment issues or crises.
- Sensitivity regarding the issues of family violence and sexual assault.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing workloads.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Sensitivity and awareness of domestic and sexual violence and how to remain calm in crisis situations.
