We are a unique facility, combining a fully functioning winery with intimate concerts, food & wine classes, private events in a variety of configurations, and fine dining. We have created a compelling mix for our sophisticated clientele of foodies, and active cultural patrons—bringing the wine country experience to the middle of a large city.


Position Summary
The Retail Wine Associate is responsible for providing exceptional guest service experiences to all clientele that have interactions  with City Winery and drives retail sales. This individual serves as a point of contact at the Retail Wine Counter for purposes of general guest service, retail sales, wine club sales, winery tours, and City Winery merchandise sales.  


Overview of Responsibilities


●       Manage all correspondence with guests via phone and email in relation to retail wine and merchandise sales  


●       Assist guests with retail wine and merchandise selection  


●       Drive Wine Club member sign-ups and manage after sales service, including updating Resy, master wine club spreadsheet, and monthly member pick up  


●       Drive retail wine sales by offering weekly onsite tastings 


●       Help educate front of house staff on retail wine and merchandise  


●       Have a proficient understanding of our POS and inventory software (Toast, Houseager, Beveager), and ensure that the retail screen is accurate and current  


●       Coordinate with Retail Wine Director on all seasonal wine and merchandise promotions 


●       Oversee organization, layout and inventory of the onsite retail shelves  


●       Always maintain organized and presentable sales floor 


●       Conduct building and winery tours for interested guests  


●       All other reasonably assigned duties, tasks, projects, implementations, as per business need

Minimum Qualifications


●       Minimum 1-year prior experience in a retail wine setting, or customer service role in a hospitality setting


●       Understanding of the major wine varietals, tasting notes, wine service and wine production  


●       Exceptional hospitality and guest service skills 


●       Polished presentation 


●       Proficient typing and computer skills 


●       Aptitude in resolving issues with a customer-focused orientation 


●       Effective communication skills both written and verbal  


●       Ability to work both independently and in a team environment 


●       Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays 


●       Must be fluently literate in English including ability to read, write, and communicate, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data 


●       Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk regularly; occasionally lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. when needed
