Willow Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility is looking for a dedicated and passionate Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Arlington, Texas. As a full-time PTA, you will support the rehabilitation process by assisting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality care to patients with orthopedic conditions. Work Environment

As an orthopedic PTA, your daily schedule will typically involve working Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a balanced work-life environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in evaluating patients and collecting data on patients’ status to help physical therapists develop treatment plans.
  • Implement individualized treatment programs under the guidance of licensed physical therapists, focusing on therapeutic exercises and mobility training.
  • Utilize various therapeutic interventions, such as heat, cold, and electrical modalities, to optimize recovery.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting therapeutic approaches as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Educate and guide patients through exercises and self-care techniques to promote independence and prevent future injuries.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align treatment strategies and ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in patient outreach and community education efforts to raise awareness of rehabilitation resources available through our facility.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients at Willow Ridge primarily consist of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. You will work closely with a diverse clientele, ranging from young adults to seniors, who have unique rehabilitation needs and goals. Your compassionate approach and dedication to patient care will be key in helping them regain mobility, strength, and confidence.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold a valid PTA license in the state of Texas or be eligible to obtain one.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in orthopedic settings is preferred.
  • Proficient in physical therapy evaluation techniques, therapeutic exercises, and patient education practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing compassionate care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team, as well as independently when required.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy documentation standards and electronic health record systems.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation facility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in assisting with manual therapies and rehabilitative exercises.
  • Experience using therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic ultrasound.
  • Familiarity with diverse rehabilitation techniques and patient education strategies.
