Overview

The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA*), the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for UW-Madison, is recruiting for a Advancement Program Intern work work Spring & Summer 2022 approximately 10-20 hours per week (with option to increase hours in the summer).

As an Advancement Program Intern, you will assist with program and event planning, event preparation, event execution, and post event work for the Advancement Programs Team. This role will be active in the planning of WAA’s annual Grandparents University program.  Advancement Program Interns are ambassadors of WFAA and UW-Madison. In addition to office hours, these student hourly positions will staff key engagement programs.


Responsibilities
  • Participate in team meetings and WFAA trainings
  •  Assist with planning programs and initiatives to engage UW alumni and donors
    • Conduct research and document and share findings
    • Review and contribute to marketing review process
  •  Perform administrative support for the Advancement Programs Team
    • Assist with Customer service
    • Assist with database entry
    • Support program team as needed
  • Help with event execution
    • Assist with event and program preparation as needed (including name badges, packing materials, preparing event collateral, etc.)
    • Staff registration tables
    • Greet and assist event attendees
    • Transport supplies and materials related to events
    • Run event related errands

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and execution, summer camps, retail or service industry are all helpful.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are required.
  • High analytical skills, language, reasoning ability and problem solving.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with a high degree of independence; ability to work well as part of a team; high degree of customer service skills; excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, including ability to express all appropriate information clearly and concisely, whether written or verbal; ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
