The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA*), the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW), is seeking a Law Clerk for its Legal Affairs Department. We are looking for a Law Clerk to work 10-20 hours during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours during the summer. This paid intern position is hybrid and will require you to be in the office 2 days per week.

As a Legal Affairs Law Clerk, you will primarily assist WFAA's legal team with:
- Research, review, analyze, and write about a wide variety of legal issues that affect WFAA including contracts, gift agreements, Wisconsin's Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (WUPMIFA) and other rules and regulations that apply to the management of institutional funds, trusts and estates, data privacy, raffle and sweepstakes regulations, taxes, insurance, and real estate.
- Review event and vendor contracts
- Help implement a contract lifecycle management system
- Update and draft internal policies
- Attend internal and external meetings
A successful candidate will have strong communication, research, and writing skills and an interest in educational advancement, contracts, estate planning and administration, real estate, risk management, insurance, exempt organizations, and/or nonprofit governance.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited law school.
- Must have completed one year of law school.
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Effective organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel).
