Our curriculum focuses on character development far beyond the importance of self-defense. We teach our young students how to respect their elders, how to be accountable, how to focus, and how to stay in shape in a fun and exciting atmosphere. We empower our adult students with the self-confidence to overcome anxieties and trauma in an environment that fosters inclusion and social belonging.
Job Summary:
An assistant instructor is an extra set of eyes and ears for the head instructor. They are there to enhance the student's experience through assistance in training, and assistance given to the lead instructor. We are looking for a person who can not only teach, but more importantly inspire others to be the best version of themselves possible. A PMA instructor utilizes the tools given to them to impact as many people as possible, is always a student, and never lets their ego get the best of them. A learning attitude is key for the success of this position.
Classroom Floor Duties:
  • Greeting students
  • Helping kids sign into class
  • Leading Student Creeds
  • Helping kids find and put on sparring gear
  • Walking the lines, making small corrections
  • Keeping kids focused and on task
  • Learning the class plans, line ups, drills, and communications a lead instructor uses
  • Able to give mat chat
  • Performing the Cycle of Instruction
  • Keeping the floor organized and neat
  • Assisting in motivating and building professional relationships with the students and families
  • Working towards being able to teach classes on their own or with another assistant

Assistant Instructor Hours
