Job description

Company Overview
Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup, founded by two former electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. Our innovative approach requires overcoming significant technical challenges, making this an exciting and dynamic environment for experienced engineers.
With an engineering-first culture, ACS values technical excellence and innovation. Backed by our founders' successful exits from two previous ventures acquired for a combined $180M in 2022, we are committed to ensuring that the groundbreaking technologies we develop will have a real-world impact.
Position Overview
Allen Control Systems is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician to support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in soldering, cable fabrication, and circuit debugging, as well as a strong understanding of electrical schematics and test equipment.
What You'll Do
  • Assemble and solder electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with industry standards.
  • Fabricate and terminate cables, wiring harnesses, and connectors for electronic systems.
  • Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electrical and electronic circuits.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Assist engineers in the development and refinement of electronic prototypes and production units.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of testing procedures, modifications, and system repairs.
  • Adhere to company and industry quality and safety standards when handling electronic components and assemblies.
What You'll Need
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electronics assembly, testing, and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Proficiency in soldering and PCB rework (through-hole and surface-mount).
  • Strong cable-making and wiring harness assembly skills.
  • Experience with circuit debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of industry safety procedures related to electronic assembly and repair.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary
  • ACS Equity Package
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
